EXTRACTIONS
Extraction is a surgical procedure that involves removing a tooth or a part of it that remains in the socket. This procedure is performed under local anesthesia and is commonly necessary in cases of advanced dental decay, fractured teeth, problematic wisdom teeth, or to prepare the mouth for orthodontic treatments.
Common indications for an extraction:
• Severe dental decay that cannot be restored. • Teeth fractured (cracked-chipped) or split at the root. • Wisdom teeth removal. • Primary teeth that do not fall out naturally. • Supernumerary or poorly positioned teeth.
Postoperative Care:
• Apply cold compresses to the face to reduce swelling. • Take pain•relieving medications as prescribed. • Avoid hard or hot food during the first few days.
